The fund supports candidates for up to one or two years of research and/or medical procedural training at an accredited and suitable institution abroad.

W. and L. Rutishauser Fund

The W. and L. Rutishauser Fund aims to sustain and enhance the high standard and quality of cardiovascular medical care in Switzerland through awarding travel fellowships for academic career advancement. The fellowship is intended to help support up to one to two years of research and/or medical procedural training at an accredited and suitable institution abroad.

Application and Deadline

  • Yearly deadline for submissions is 2 August, 5:00 PM, on swissheart.ccgranttracker.com.
  • Time for the evaluation of the application and communication of the decision will be communicated.
  • It is possible that the candidate will be invited for an interview.
  • The application must be submitted in English.


Eligibility

  • Candidate must be a qualified Cardiologist FMH or Cardiovascular Surgeon FMH.
  • Candidate must have shown clinical and/or academic excellence for the stage of the career.
  • Candidate must be aspiring to a full professorship at a Swiss University or Cantonal Hospital.
  • Candidate must have a confirmed position to return to.
  • Candidate must have a permanent permit of residence in Switzerland or be a Swiss national.


Grant

  • One year with possibility of a one-year extension.
  • SNF Postdoc.Mobility fellowship rates are applied with additional support for dependents.
  • Usage of Travel Fellowship
    • To support personal costs and those of immediate family incurred through the temporary research or training stay abroad.
    • The Fellowship does not cover research project costs, or related materials, facilities, or third-party human resources.
